They usually roll the fabric out, it's folded in half, and just measure it one way. You'll need 2 yards. You'll need to make sure that the width of the fabric is at least 52" too. Fleece sometimes comes in a large width because people use it for blankets so you might even find some with a width of 62" in which case you'll only need to buy 1.5 yards. If you go to a store the people should be able to help you.
