How long are thawed steaks good when they are marinating in the fridge?

I took some elk steaks out of the freezer on Wednesday morning and put them in the fridge to thaw. Wednesday night they were still frozen. I put them in milk over night to tenderize them and then Thursday morning I put them in an Italian Dressing marinate. They haven't been covered or sealed, but have been in the fridge soaking/marinating the entire time. It's Friday now. Will they still be ok to cook and eat?
