What are the chances that you get hit by road hazard when you ride motorcycle to work

Well, let's see...on a recent trip to Las Vegas (2662 miles round trip) I avoided about 1500 pieces of truck tire rubber, 6 dead Armadillos, 3 cats, several car mufflers and a drunken hitchhiker in Albuquerque. I did get whanged on the kneecap by an unidentified piece of metal thrown up by a ping car. Swore I was shot for a minute there and it really felt good when it stopped hurting. No permanent damage...nice bruise, though. Here's a secret. Don't tailgate anyone, EVER, when you're on a bike. Car drivers will straddle obstacles in the road and if you're following too closely, you don't have time to react and avoid same. But I agree, I think you worry too much...
