Why does my wife sleep 12 hrs per day, play games on Facebook and watch TV while the house is filthy?

It sounds like your wife may be very unhappy, bored with her life, or even seriously depressed. Have you tried talking with her - not at her - about how you feel? Have you suggested counseling? Would you mind if she got a job away from the house or do you want her at home - consider that spending so much time at home alone can become very depressing- we all need regular social interaction and it sounds like she gets very little.And if she won't go to counseling, offer to go with her to see her doctor for a checkup, maybe suggesting that the two of you cold get involved in some fitness - and household cleaning activities - together once you know you're both healthy enough. It's so tempting to call this laziness but I really suspect depression, caused by physical health issues and/or loneliness. At least it's worth exploring before abandoning her in a divorce or separation, which could well trigger an over-the-top depressive event.
