Is my name Pierre in french if my name is Peter?

Am i supposed to translate my name if i visit france or any other country for that matter. Am i supposed to translate it if there's one existing for that country. My Korean name can't be changed cuz there isn't one for any other language except my own. So should i say i'm Pierre or Peter in France for example?
