Help with The Great Gatsby?

Basically, it's saying that Gatsby's parties were so lavish and over the top that it seemed to hide what was really going on during the 1920s. People cared more about money and material objects than morals and integrity. If you agree with the statement, you could mention how his parties seemed very enjoyable and therefore masked the corruption. If you disagree, you could say that the guests' morality problems were apparent during the parties (though more in depth, of course). Good luck!
